Estudio del efecto de una atmósfera ozonificada sobre la actividad peroxidásica y algunas propiedades físicas en las hojas de rábano (Raphanus sativus)

Resumen
Abstract: In the present work, it was studied the ozone effect on some physical and biochemical characteristics of horse radish (Raphanus sativus) leaves. Pre-tests were carried out, through the reaction among H2O2 (2.0 mol/L) and guaiacol (0.1 mol/L), with extracts of avocado (Lauraceae persea), fig (Moraceae ficus), geranium (Geraniaceae pelargonium) and horse radish (Raphanus sativus) leaves with and without treatment with ozone and readings of absorbance were made in a spectrophotometer to determine the peroxidase activity. Horse radish was chosen to continue the study.
Horse radish plants were exposed to ozone doses of 0.04, 0.06, 0.08 y 0.10 ppm during 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0, 6.0, 8.0 and 10.0 hours. Peroxidase activity was determined in leaves and it was established that between 0.04 and 0.06ppm of ozone, this parameter was the same between 0.08 and 0.10ppm it increases. At the same conditions were measured the moisture percentage before and after the ozonification. Horse radish leaves lost more humidity between 0.04 and 0.10 ppm of ozone with the time of exposition. color and consistency were determined by visualizing leaves before and after ozonification at each concentration and times. A decrease of these characteristics was observed regarding the time, based on an own scale.
